Aroob has been a special talent from a very young age. When she was just 13 years old, Shah made her professional debut for Karachi Women in the National Women’s Championship in 2017. Two years later, in 2019, she received a call-up to Pakistan’s squad for their series against Bangladesh, making her debut in that same series.
Her breakout year continued as she would make her Women’s Twenty20 International debut against England in December 2019 taking 1 wicket for 21 runs off her four overs. A few weeks later, in January 2020, she was named in Pakistan’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
In December 2020, she was shortlisted as one of the Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year for the 2020 PCB Awards.
At the start of the year, Shah captained Pakistan U19’s to the Super 6 of the U19 T20 World Cup, finishing 3rd, behind England and New Zealand.
Shah made her appearance for Pakistan again after being selected for the home T20i series against South Africa this year.
We look forward to seeing more of this exciting young talented all-rounder on the international scene!
